همچنین فیلترهای این دستگاه را می توان با جریان معکوس آبِ تمیزی که تولید می‌شود، شستشو داد تا بدین ترتیب از گرفتگی غشاها جلوگیری شود؛ به این شکل که آبِ تمیز با فشار معینی در خلاف جهت جریان، از فیلتر عبور داده شده و باعث باز شدن حفره‌ها می‌شود. در نتیجه عمر غشاهای مورد استفاده در این دستگاه بسته به نوع پساب مورد استفاده، بین ۵ تا ۱۰ سال است.
